Kroger Tour

I was happy to be a part of the Kroger Company's launch of a pilot program called Celebrate YOU! in select stores in Atlanta, Georgia targeting women of color on November 10-11, 2007. I traveled to several Kroger stores and spoke about the importance of good health in young children. The goal of the program is to assist women of color make more educated choices as it relates to their health and wellness. Since so many diseases, such as diabetes, obesity, heart disease and stroke, affect minority populations in alarming numbers. A program created by L.A.I. Communications, Celebrate YOU! aims to “edu-tain” (educate and entertain) consumers so they can learn to take a holistic approach to health and wellness for themselves and their families. Myself (Ms. Black Georgia) and several Kroger stores featured fun cooking demonstrations on holiday favorites by the American Diabetes Association’s best-selling authors, Fabiola Gaines, Rojean Williams and Chef Shawn Franklin of the Family Style Soul Food Diabetes Cookbook and Healthy Soul Food Cooking.
